The service

AKT Revision provides revision questions, fact sheets, courses and progress tools for the MRCGP Applied Knowledge Test, with membership payments in GBP. The service is owned and operated by Laneapps Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08950053), at Rockingham, Calf Hill Road, Thongsbridge, Holmfirth, HD9 3TG, United Kingdom. Anonymous result comparisons

Progress and peer-comparison tools depend on combining members’ practice results. By creating an account, you agree that your scores may be used to calculate anonymous cohort statistics. The persisted comparison snapshot contains score buckets and counts, not names, email addresses or user IDs, and comparisons are not displayed for very small cohorts. This processing is a required part of the account service and is not an optional Account preference. If you do not accept it, do not create an account; you may delete an existing account and its underlying learning history at any time.

Membership and eligibility

A subscription is personal to you: one account per person, and you must be at least 18 years old. Do not share your login details or let anyone else use your account — each user needs their own membership.

Billing, renewal and cancellation

Rolling monthly membership costs £11.99 per month, or £9.59 per month through the eligible SCA member offer. It renews monthly until cancelled. Cancel future payments from Account; access continues to the end of your paid period.

Three-month access costs £30 in one upfront payment, or £24 through the eligible SCA offer. Six-month access costs £50 in one upfront payment, or £40 through that offer. SCA members receive 20% off all three membership options. Monthly equivalents are rounded to the nearest penny and describe the total divided by the number of months; they are not monthly instalments. These prepaid passes expire automatically and do not renew.

Eligible verified accounts can start one 72-hour free trial without a payment method. It includes up to 30 distinct Question Bank questions per rolling 24 hours, one Learn course chosen once for the whole trial, and ten AI tutor messages in total. Question allowances count content delivered to your browser, including preloaded questions and each EMQ stem. Revisiting those questions within the same window does not consume another slot. Full Question Bank mock exams require paid membership. The trial starts when you explicitly select Start free trial; it ends automatically after 72 hours, without a charge. Progress is retained. Choosing a paid membership charges the selected amount immediately and starts the full paid period; no additional Stripe trial is added. Existing card-backed trials retain their agreed end dates and payment arrangements.

Apple purchases and the iPhone app

The purchase screen shows the App Store price, duration and whether the plan renews. Monthly plans renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation; renewal is charged within the 24 hours before expiry. Manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in your Apple subscription settings. Three- and six-month passes are single payments that expire without renewal. Website offers may differ from App Store prices.

Use Restore purchases in Account to restore eligible Apple access to your AKT account. Deleting the app or your AKT account does not cancel an Apple subscription. For Apple payment or refund requests, use Apple's refund service. The app is licensed under Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement. These Terms govern the AKT service alongside that licence and do not remove your statutory rights.

Refunds

For website purchases, we do not normally offer refunds for unused subscription time, subject to your statutory rights — including time left unused because a subscription was not cancelled promptly, or because your exam or results date falls within a billing cycle. Please cancel before your renewal date if you no longer need access. This does not affect cancellation rights that apply by law, or remedies where digital content or services are faulty, not as described or not supplied. Apple handles refund decisions for App Store purchases.

Instant access and the cooling-off period

A statutory cancellation period may apply to a distance purchase. For digital content, that right is lost only where supply begins after your express consent and acknowledgement that you will lose the right to cancel. Agreeing to these Terms alone does not provide that consent. Any applicable request for immediate supply is made separately at purchase. App Store purchases follow Apple's purchase and cancellation process. Contact us about statutory cancellation rights for website purchases.

Our content and your licence

The questions, fact sheets, reference cards, courses and other materials on AKT Revision are owned by Laneapps Limited or used under licence. Third-party licences and attributions remain applicable. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own revision, and nothing more: they may not be copied, reproduced, redistributed, sold or used to build derivative products without our written permission. Where the app offers a Download button, you may keep that audio or video privately on your device for your own revision. Offline playback requires an access refresh at least every seven days and remains subject to your membership. You may remove downloads at any time; signing out removes account-bound downloads. Offline media does not make AI Tutor or all study functions available without a connection.

Educational use only

All content is for exam revision. It is not clinical advice, and it must not be used to make decisions about patient care. Guidance changes: always verify against current published guidance (NICE, SIGN, BNF and the other cited sources) before acting on anything you read here. Where content cites a source, the citation is provided so you can check it.

AI tutor

Every paid membership includes a fair-use allowance of 300 AI tutor messages per month. Each message you send, including a follow-up, counts towards this allowance. It renews on your monthly membership anniversary, including within three- and six-month prepaid passes; unused messages do not roll over. Your tutor shows your remaining allowance and reset date. The 72-hour free trial includes 10 messages in total. Members with a rolling monthly paid membership can add Unlimited AI for an extra £5/month from Account. This recurring add-on is optional and can be removed from Account.

The AI tutor is a revision aid and can make mistakes. It uses reviewed AKT Revision material for guidance-dependent clinical details and may use general model knowledge for stable medical explanations. It is not a source of patient-specific advice. Do not enter patient-identifiable information, and verify clinical guidance against the current published source before relying on it.

AI features are optional. We ask for your permission before sharing messages, revision context or study information with OpenAI or Anthropic. You can turn them off in Account on the website or app. Existing access to questions, courses and saved progress continues. See the Privacy notice for details.

If you allow AI features and hold the Unlimited AI add-on and an active AKT Revision membership, the service creates a daily tutor update each day, including an update when the previous day was quiet. With your AI permission, the scheduled process sends computed statistics about your effort, pace, Question Bank use and Learn progress to the configured AI API, then stores a concise Home update and a fuller Progress update in your account. It does not send your name or email in the prompt, and updates are revision guidance rather than an exam-result prediction or guarantee.

Fair use and content protection

Your subscription is personal. Sharing accounts, scraping, bulk-downloading or redistributing questions or fact sheets is not permitted and leads to account closure. Rate limits enforce this automatically.

No outcome guarantee

Readiness estimates, percentiles and scores are study aids derived from your own activity. They are not predictions or guarantees of exam performance.

Reporting problems

If you believe a question or fact sheet is wrong, use the report button beside it. Reports enter our review queue. Questions with three independent open reports are temporarily withdrawn while reviewed; a single report does not automatically remove a question. For a serious clinical concern, email info@aktrevision.co.uk with the subject “Urgent clinical concern” and the question or fact-sheet reference. We may use or publish feedback you send us about the service.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the service available around the clock, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted, and we are not liable for downtime, delays or data unavailability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Laneapps Limited is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service or its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; changes take effect when posted on this page, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute belongs to the courts of England and Wales. See also the legal disclaimer and privacy policy.
